My apologies for my lack of postings these past few months, i promise to do a better job in upcoming months to get my students work up and share their talents and our projects with you all!

I have been working endlessly on getting my etsy shop up and running and so far things have been going wonderfully and I highly recommend selling through this site to any other practicing artist out there.

Check out whats new in my shop to see what i have been up to and check back soon to see what my kiddos have been creating!!

ETSY SHOP UP and Sorta Running!!

WAHOO!! I have joined the real artist nation and started up my own etsy shop... the one hard part for me is being able to find the "theme" they say helps in the etsy world.  I'm sure it is the same for many of you but as an art teacher and as an artist I work in a vast variety of mediums and areas of art, but hopefully my many item and medium shop takes off to keep me busy with some fun things on the side.

Check it out!! Any custom work is more than welcome as well!!

And any suggestions for success from fellow Etsy people/Sellers/Buyers would be more than welcomed!

Question!!! :)

Ive noticed that many of you are much smarter than i am and have created a "watermark" to place on your photos on your blogs.  HOW??? i have been starting to play around with that and have zero idea how to do so.

One more random question.... how do you get something copy written... just for protection purposes with personal art work?  And is it a complicated pricey process?

As you can see im starting my research on this latest idea and truly am stepping out of my knowledge level to do so, so ANY and all Help is greatly appreciated!!!!

HELP!!!

Help PLEASE!!
I am looking to start up my own website to start selling some of my personal art work on, i also want to make it so people can custom order from that site, but i have no idea where to start.

Do any of you have your own sites where you sell work? IF so what software did u use to design it?

Do any of you sell on Etsy? if so is it successful or a waste of time?

ANY and all help would be awesome!!  Being a ceramics focused art major isnt helping me too much right now with my ambition to design and run a website.-- again dont need anything to fancy but want a simple title for people to be able to find and some of these sights have their name/ your name/ website name i just gets to be too much!

THANKS! :)

Flamingos

4/5 learned about warm and cool colors and created abstract flamingos using those colors.  They used crayon in the opposite colors they chose to use on the inside of the flamingo so if their flamingo was warm on the inside the crayons were cool colors. then we finished with splatter(blow) painting around the flamingo in the colors of the bird.   We also looked at and talked about the work of Romare Beardon to learn a bit about collage art... it also worked out during Black History month so we made a few connections all around.

We used tissue paper and newspaper on the collage portion and connected it to the paper with either modge podge or a 50/50 glue water solution- both worked great.  Very nice results with this one to spring up our Florida school halls!

Jungle Cats!

2/3 just finished painting BIG!!!! i found this lesson idea on smART class blog (http://elementaryartfun.blogspot.com/search/label/Big%20Cats) and had to try it... tweeked it around a little with the background and we only used tempera cakes for the background and tempera paint for the cats but overall the results are pretty cute and the kids had a BLAST making them!! took a while to paint the 18x24 paper though.
